DAY 7
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
Have you ever been in a dark room and turned on a flashlight? No matter how hard you tried, you would not be able to ignore or turn your eye from the beam of light. Light is so powerful that even a small amount will disturb the darkness – because LIGHT influences the dark. You cannot walk into a room that is fully lit, and cast darkness upon it. The only way to make it dark is to remove the light.
YOU are the light of the world. The closer that we align ourselves with God and His Word the brighter that light will be.
“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:4-5
During our time of prayer and fasting, let us not forget why it is so important. Fasting is not done for the praise of men, but unto the Lord. It is a spiritual act from the heart, desiring God to come and answer our petition. We will delight in the Lord. We will care about lost souls. We will want people to be freed from sin. We will fast and pray for the sick and afflicted. Our hearts will be in tune with the heart of God. His purpose will be our purpose. For God loves the world and came to save it. You and I, who have the Holy Ghost, are the world’s lighthouses. It is up to us to portray God to the lost world. If they have not read the Bible, they can see your life and want salvation.
“The people which sat in darkness saw a great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up.” Matthew 4:16
We are to be laborers together in unity with one mind and one accord, fasting, praying, witnessing, and helping bring in a harvest of lost souls before Jesus comes. It is time to influence the dark. Be the light.
Things to Pray About:
-Ask God, during your time of prayer and fasting, to align your heart with His word.
-Ask for boldness to share the light with the people around you (Find an opportunity to share your testimony).
